Project Background
After years of relying on rental exhibit solutions, The HC Companies, North America’s leading manufacturer of horticultural containers, decided to invest in a custom-built exhibit tailored to their specific needs. As an industry trailblazer, it was crucial that the new trade show exhibit aligned with the company’s sustainability vision. This was achieved by incorporating recyclable materials and reusable fixtures, including modular trade show exhibit display units designed to accommodate their continually expanding show schedule.
Challenge
Each display needed to showcase products effectively for both end-user consumers and commercial clients, such as greenhouse and nursery operators. This required adaptable product displays, live demonstrations, interchangeable fabric signage, and digital displays to provide comprehensive coverage of every product range.

Our Approach to Custom Trade Show Exhibit Design
In collaboration with The HC Companies’ trade show manager, Communication Exhibits led an extensive review of past exhibits, analyzing both successes and challenges. The focus was on booth layout, visitor engagement strategies, and product display areas to ensure a positive outcome for the new 20’ x 70’ exhibit at Cultivate 2024 by AmericanHort.

Solution
The final solution included a series of elegant displays crafted from lightweight, recycled aluminum extrusion, energy-efficient LED lighting, and laminates made from reclaimed wood byproducts. Additionally, each display unit is modular, enabling products of varying heights and weights to be easily showcased. The custom trade show exhibit design also allows for the integration of both digital and graphic display elements as needed.
Each standardized unit comes preassembled, offering adaptability to multiple layouts, which reduces setup time and labor costs. In addition, this efficient design also contributes to a lower carbon footprint for the exhibit.

In conclusion, the new HC Companies trade show exhibit has achieved significant success, being utilized at numerous trade shows, from large island exhibits to small in-line displays. Its bold graphic identifiers and natural aesthetics enhance branding, allowing it to stand out within highly competitive environments.
