Project Background
Nearly 40,000 retail industry professionals gathered in New York City to attend the National Retail Federation (NRF) 2020 Vision: Retail’s Big Show in January of 2020. Diebold Nixdorf’s Storevolution™ program was on full display, highlighting a flawless execution of a consumers journey within the 40’ x 40’ booth space while showcasing their highly modular and fully interconnected self-service retail solutions.
Challenge
Diebold Nixdorf approached Communication Exhibits, Inc. with a unique challenge: How can we leverage their existing exhibit properties in a new, unique way that will highlight the interconnectivity of their products in a real-world scenario. A consumer’s journey needed to be represented through grocery, convenience, fashion and quick service restaurant solutions and while being provided with working product demonstrations.
Approach
Our team of Exhibit and Graphic Designers made the decision to highlight that interconnectivity through the use of a specialty printed floor graphic. A unique, concentric pattern was used to “link” product demonstration areas together within the large 40’ x 40’ exhibit space. The dynamic visuals assisted booth staff with the story telling element within the space and helped attendees garner a better understanding of Diebold Nixdorf’s product line.
Solution
Strategic product placement of demonstration areas proved to be key for a successful show. The consumers’ journey was on full display with a walk-through experience highlighting multiple retail vignettes. Attendees were able to shop, select and “purchase” items within each individualized setting. Dynamic, back lit fabric graphics provided strong visual backdrops, combined with props, point of purchase displays and sales counters that reflect their retail counterparts. Attendees could even wind down and have a little bit of fun playing a Pac-Man game located in the quick service vignette.
